5 reasons why you should book your newborn photography session before your baby arrives
We all know that babies grow very fast and this is especially true for newborns. In the blink of an eye, before you know it, your little bundle of joy will be a full-fledged toddler running around and giggling at you with their sweet tooth showing through. Hiring a professional photographer specialising in newborn photography would be a great way to capture these moments while they’re still fresh in your mind, and will allow you to look back and remember exactly how small they were for years to come.
Newborn photography sessions are a wonderful way to capture those precious first few weeks of your baby’s life. But did you know that it’s best to book your session before your baby is born? Here’s why:
You can be sure that the photographer will be available when your baby is born. We only take on a limited number of sessions per month to allow for flexibility in our schedule (let’s face it newborns arrive on their own schedule, so we need to be able to move dates a bit as required). This means if you leave it till after your baby arrives you may have difficulty finding a photographer who is available on short notice.
You can coordinate outfits and props ahead of time. This will give you plenty of time to plan and pick out the perfect look and accessories for your newborn’s session.
Babies are best photographed in the first couple of weeks. This time can be very busy for a new mum adjusting to life with a baby and let’s face it a lack of sleep, so booking in advance will mean it’s one less thing you’ll have to think about and remember to do.
You can take advantage of our free maternity session and can rest assured that once your baby arrives we will capture all their incredible details but you’ll also have a stunning memory of this time, when they grew inside you, and you felt them kick and move before anyone else could.
You can use the time before the session to get to know the photographer and ask any questions you may have. This will help you feel more comfortable and confident during the session. You’ll then have peace of mind knowing that your newborn photography session is all sorted before your baby arrives and that you definitely won’t miss out on capturing all their newborn squishyness !
